GO OUT ・ TAKE OUT

Mnemonic

Start with a mountain () at the bottom. On top, the long middle stroke is like the path leading out, and the two short strokes (凵) curve like the heel of a shoe stepping forward. Together, they show someone coming out from the mountain — 出 means to GO OUT from inside, or, by extension, to TAKE OUT something from within.

Ken steps out of the mountain trail — just like 出.
